We're local, and passionate about pets

We are fourth and fifth generation Oregonians whose lives have been intertwined with canines, felines, and creatures of all types for decades. Green Whiskers is a premium-quality mobile dog grooming service that does everything from the heart, in the finest way possible. We love our dogs, and we love helping people pamper theirs, too.

Greg robeson, founder

Greg has lived with dogs and four-legged creatures all of his life. Growing up in Central Oregon, he loved the comfort and security of snuggling with his family’s Basset Hound, Louie, and later a long line of Golden Retrievers, a breed he welcomes into his home to this day. Greg has over 30 years experience building brands and providing marketing counsel to companies and products in the Pacific Northwest. He created Green Whiskers as a way to be close to people and their pets, and to bring to the marketplace a system of grooming that was as gentle on the earth as it is on the pooches they pamper. When not meeting new dogs throughout Portland, Greg loves cooking for family and friends, tending to his garden, and tossing crab pots into Tillamook Bay.

Amanda Thomas,

Lead groomer

Amanda is a born-and-raised Oregonian who was brought up with dogs from birth. She began grooming during 2013 while her husband, Bob, was stationed in the military in Hawaii. When returning to the states in 2014, Amanda pursued her career as a full-time groomer. She takes great pride in her continuing education, amassing over 20 hours of advanced training in canine structure, balance and handling. Amanda began grooming and exhibiting dogs in the summer of 2016, with multiple wins, including “Best in Breed” at the 2017 Mt. Bachelor Kennel Club Dog Show. When not grooming professionally, Amanda spends her time with her two dogs, Mocha (a mix rescued while in Hawaii), and Scooby (a pure-bred Basenji). She and her husband also enjoy cruising with the Suburu Club of Oregon.

Derek Miranda, Groomer

To see Derek Miranda’s compassion for dogs now, it would be hard to believe he was actually afraid of pooches as a youngster. His first pup, a miniature poodle named Rusty, helped him to develop an understanding of the love a dog has to offer. Bigger dogs, though, were still an anxiety producer. At 17, Derek was offered a job bathing dogs, and that was when he began to feel the warmth and love every dog has to offer, no matter their size. In fact, his favorite dog today is the lanky Boxer. Getting to meet new friendly canine faces every day and making them look their absolute best has become a passion for Derek, who believes that every dog has a unique heart and soul. He finds being able to form relationships with these dogs and their human companions is incredibly fulfilling and makes him love going to work every day. As an outdoor enthusiast from a small Southwest town, Derek is enthralled by the trails and parks throughout the Portland metro area, as well as meeting new people and experiencing fishing here in the Pacific Northwest.
